My preferred name is Grace. I am a first year graduate student in the Political Science program as a part of the Applied Community and Economic Development sequence. I graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2018 with my bachelors in History and International Studies. My studies largely focused on grassroots movements in the United States and Latin America, and my thesis covered Queer family structures during the Cold War.
Shortly after graduating, I served as a Youth Development Volunteer in Peace Corps Costa Rica until global evacuation in March of 2020. My research interests include grassroots movements, political activism, and the role of government in sustainable development. After graduating I hope to continue working in community development, at home or abroad
