I am a graduate student at Illinois State University, pursuing a major in Political Science. I began the graduate program in Fall 2019 and expect to graduate in Spring 2021. I'm also an Assistant Professor of International Relations at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), Dhaka (on leave). I hold a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Dhaka. Previously I worked at Solidarity Center at Dhaka and worked in several research projects, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Department of International Development (DFID), and the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. My teaching and research interests encompass comparative politics, political theory, South Asian politics, and Bangladesh studies. I'm currently working on competitive authoritarian regimes, democratic backsliding, Islamic revivalism, and religion and politics. I plan to go for a Ph.D. and build my career in academia.
