Biography
Hosea Gitonga Njogu is a graduate student pursuing a Master of Science in Political Science, specializing in Public Service, at Illinois State University. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Maasai Mara University, Kenya, and a Master of Science in Applied Economics from Illinois State University. Professionally, Hosea has contributed to economic planning and policy analysis with the Meru County Government's Department of Finance, supporting development planning under Kenya's Public Finance Management Act. He has also served as Operations and Finance Coordinator for the Africa Airlift Initiative and currently serves as Secretary General of the Kenyan Students Organization.
Research Interests & Areas
His research interests include public policy, political economy, public finance, and behavioral economics, with a focus on the social and economic effects of government policy. His research has examined the impact of sports betting legalization on marital stability, the effects of student debt on retirement savings, and Exchange Rate Policy and Monetary Policy in Kenya. He has experience in quantitative data analysis and econometric modeling using Stata.
