To be successful in the legal field, graduates must be able to:
- apply critical thinking
- effectively communicate orally and in writing in a professional setting
- conduct legal research; draft legal documents
- integrate computer skills in a legal setting; interview clients and witnesses
- understand the ethical obligations of being a legal professional.
Graduates who work with Spanish-speaking clients also must be able to assist the client and the attorney in communicating with each other.
Related Fields
Many students graduating with this major will work in law offices that serve Spanish-speaking clients. Other students may go to law school.
